Yamuna® Body Rolling?

BODY ROLLING is a technique of self-recovery from stress; overused muscles and compressed joints from repetitive motion and daily living activities. The constant compression on the connective tissue (Fascia) on the spine, hips, knees, shoulders and all joints of the body, can be damaging over time without a recovery program in place to create natural space and alignment back into the body


.BODY ROLLING uses different size balls, hard foam and inflatable, to roll into the body in a systematic way to lengthen and realign tissue and bones back to a more neutral state. Its far beyond using foam rollers due to the nature of the round ball which can fit into small and much deeper areas of the body. It is also the education behind the rolling, the direction of the movement and the unlocking order that makes all the difference.

Extending the Gifts of Yamuna: Body Rolling

Yamuna is the creator of Yamuna® Body Rolling. Yamuna took all the basic theories of her Body Logic system and practice and translated them to a ball. The ball becomes the hands of the therapist and the person’s weight creates the traction, movement and release on the ball. The result is what she calls YAMUNA® BODY ROLLING. This is a very powerful self -fixing and maintaining tool that everyone can do regardless of his age or physical limitations. YBR® (the name commonly used) organizes the body bringing all the parts back to working the way they should and can be. The commonly accepted belief that as you get older you get stiffer and lose mobility and can no longer do the things we used to do is not part of Yamuna’s belief system. She believes everyone should be able to achieve his personal best at every age.

In a Yamuna® Body Rolling class one learns to work on each part of the body, rolling the appropriate ball (vis-à-vis size and firmness) from the buttocks to the calf; from the tail bone up to the skull; from the abdomen up to the collar bone; from the collar bone out to the shoulder joint; and so on. Everywhere you have muscle connecting from one place to the next; this is the path along which Yamuna® Body Rolling takes you.
